Terms of service.
Last updated: June 27, 2026
Welcome to The Paralegal Standard. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website located at www.theparalegalstandard.com (the "Site"), operated by The Paralegal Standard, LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
About the Site and our services
The Site provides information about The Paralegal Standard, a professional training program designed to help law firms train paralegals. The Site is currently informational: it describes our program and allows you to contact us or request information. Any purchase of, enrollment in, or access to our training program is governed by a separate written agreement and is not offered or completed through these Terms.
We are not a law firm and do not provide legal advice
The Paralegal Standard is a professional training and education company. We are not a law firm, we do not practice law, and we do not provide legal advice. Nothing on this Site, and nothing in our training program, constitutes legal advice or creates an attorney-client relationship. Our content is general professional education and is not a substitute for advice from a licensed attorney regarding any specific situation, jurisdiction, or matter. You should not rely on any information on this Site as legal guidance.
Nature of our training; no certification or guarantee of compliance
Our training program provides general professional education for paralegals. Completion of our program does not certify, license, or accredit any individual to perform any role in any jurisdiction, and it does not constitute certification by any bar association, credentialing body, or government authority. The legal profession is regulated at the state level, and rules of professional conduct, including those governing the supervision of nonlawyer assistants, vary by jurisdiction and may impose requirements beyond the scope of our program. Our training is intended to support, and does not replace, a firm's own judgment, supervision, policies, and responsibility for meeting all applicable legal and ethical obligations. We do not guarantee any particular outcome, result, or level of compliance arising from use of our program.
No affiliation with credentialing organizations
The Paralegal Standard is an independent company. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA), the National Federation of Paralegal Associations (NFPA), the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), any bar association, or any other credentialing or regulatory organization. Any references to such organizations are for informational purposes only.
No guarantee of results
Our training program is designed to help firms train paralegals effectively, but individual results vary and depend on many factors outside our control, including the background and effort of each learner, a firm's own practices and supervision, and the specific role involved. Any statements regarding timeframes, productivity, or outcomes are illustrative and are not guarantees. We do not warrant that use of our program will produce any particular result.
Accuracy and currency of content
We strive to provide accurate and useful training content, but laws, regulations, government forms, fees, and procedures change frequently. Our content reflects general practices and information as of the time it was created and may not reflect the most current legal or procedural requirements. Our content is not a substitute for verifying current requirements with primary sources or consulting a licensed attorney. We are not responsible for any action taken or not taken in reliance on content that has changed or become outdated.
Intellectual Property
All content on this Site, including text, graphics, logos, images, video, and the design and arrangement of the Site, as well as the name "The Paralegal Standard" and associated branding, is owned by The Paralegal Standard, LLC ("we," "us," or "The Paralegal Standard") or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may view and use the Site for your own personal, informational purposes. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, publicly display, record, scrape, data-mine, or create derivative works from any content on the Site, or use our content to develop or operate any competing product or service, without our prior written permission.
Permitted Use of Free Materials. Certain lessons and materials are made available at no cost (collectively, "Free Materials"). All Free Materials remain the proprietary property of The Paralegal Standard and are protected as described elsewhere in these Terms. The following limited permission is an express exception to those general restrictions, and applies only to materials specifically designated as free.
What you may do. Law firms and their personnel may view and use the Free Materials for the internal training and onboarding of that firm's own staff. This permission applies whether or not the firm purchases a paid subscription, and no purchase is required to use the Free Materials for this purpose.
What you may not do. Except as expressly permitted above, you may not: modify, edit, or create derivative works from the Free Materials; redistribute, share, sell, license, or sublicense the Free Materials to any third party; host, post, or make the Free Materials publicly available; remove or alter any disclaimers, branding, or proprietary notices; or use the Free Materials to train individuals outside your own firm, including the staff of clients or other organizations.
Reservation of rights. The Paralegal Standard reserves all rights not expressly granted in this section. This permission may be modified or withdrawn at any time, and it does not extend to any paid course materials or trial access, which remain subject to the full restrictions set out in these Terms and to any additional terms presented at the time of purchase or sign-up.
Intellectual property of others
We respect the intellectual property rights of others. Our Site and training materials may reference, cite, or incorporate third-party materials, such as government forms, publicly available legal resources, or other works, for educational and informational purposes. All such third-party materials remain the property of their respective owners, and any trademarks, names, or logos referenced belong to their respective holders. We use such materials in good faith and without any intent to infringe upon the rights of any party. Nothing on the Site is intended to claim ownership of, or endorsement by, any third party whose materials may be referenced.
If you are a rights holder and believe that any content on our Site or in our materials has been used in a way that infringes your rights, please contact us at info@theparalegalstandard.com so we can promptly review and address your concern.

We will review properly submitted notices and respond as appropriate, which may include removing the material in question.
